Power supply question
Forums:
Hello,
I am new to electronics and while I am waiting for the picoborg to arrive, I need to make the right decision about power supply. The picoborg page states that it's better for beginners to use something like <100mA and I shouldn't think of batteries.
I need to use the 5v stepper at very slow rates (time lapse photography...). Will an dc adapter (5v 100mA) do the job without destroying anything? Or is it actually ok to get an adapter of higher current, but below 2.0 A?

Any supply below 2.0 A should be fine, ideally it will want a separate supply from the Raspberry Pi itself so the 'noise' from the stepper does not upset the Raspberry Pis 5v (it can be quite sensitive and reboot itself).
