Monsterborg one item damaged

Just unboxed my Monsterborg and had to see one item is damaged, I cant see if it is a full hole or just a bit damage, still would try to assemble it and see if it works, wondering what is the worse can happen if it is really damaged?

Attached an image to show the damaged part.

Looked a bit closer at it seems it is a hole and on picture zooming more in it looks same.

There is a good chance that the damage is superficial and the board will work perfectly fine.

If you have a multimeter available I would recommend checking if there is a short between the two pads either side of the damaged capacitor. If there is then we should arrange to have the board repaired for you.

If the board tests fine, or if you do not have a multimeter, I would try assembling the MonsterBorg and see if everything works. If the the Raspberry Pi seems to reset or loose power when trying to move the robot it is probably damaged and needs fixing. If not everything should be fine.

If you do have problems powering the robot I would assume something is wrong and stop using it. If there is a problem just let us know and we will get everything sorted out for you :)

I will try then tomorrow to assemble it and see if it runs, if I understood right if it starts and move arround all is fine, since if not it just wont work?

Seems by the way the damage was there prepackaging since the plastic it was inside was ok, saw the problem before open it.

Thanks for the fast answer.

You are correct, if the MonsterBorg drives around fine then there is nothing to worry about :)

Looks like everything is alright then, assembled it and it seems to drive fine, did only some testing with the web gui example.
