Joystick buttons latching

I'm using a picoborg reverse. I have a motor connected to one side (M1) and a cluster of LED's attached to the other (M2). I can vary the intensity oh the LED's by using the joystick example. when I let go off the joystick the Led's turn off.
I would like to be able to press a button and have the led's (M2) stay on at half power, when pressed again stay on at full power and when pressed again turn off.

on a similar note is it possible to press a button on joystick and turn camera on and off.

Is this possible ?

There is a good post on the forum here talking about detecting a button press. This could then set the motor output based on a variable :)

What do you mean when you say turning the camera on and off?
